The Writing on the Wall: Artwork

I paint with encaustic wax (beeswax) and draw with coloured pencil. I have been fortunate to have some success with my artwork :) I also dabble in acrylic, but I am very much still a beginner in that medium.

The photos are a bit of a hodgepodge, but anything that is not sold or NFS is available.

These are two of my early encaustic landscapes - now residing at a friend's place. It is nice to visit them and her at the same time.

This larger wax painting is titled "A Little Rain Must Fall" from the poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow "The Rainy Day," third stanza:

Be still, sad heart, and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.

It's hard to see in this photo, but I scored the wax vertically to represent rain. And the baby magpie is 3D. I love painting with wax! You can do almost anything with it - collage, sculpt, incise...
